Quick Chef Chicken Kebab

Firstly, a bit of background. As mentioned a few days ago, I live in Liverpool, and one type of restaurant which is very popular here is the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern/African cafe, serving traditional burgers, pizzas and kebabs alongside more exotic cuisine. A relative newcomer to this niche of the market is Quick Chef, which has won fans with solid food and cheaper prices than its direct competitors in the area. Today I am reviewing Quick Chef's chicken kebab, which I had with chips, a side salad, a pitta bread, mayonnaise and chilli sauce.

The meat is not what you'd expect from a stereotypical kebab, being fleshy chunks instead of wafer thin slivers. They are also well spiced, and taste like more care went into their preparation than probably did.

The sauce packs a punch, and I personally am always quite glad to see the mayonnaise accompanying it!

The salad is was a bit soggy to be honest (possibly due to being transported in a hot container), and is the low point of an otherwise good meal. Presentation in general is a little poor, the chips suffer from being squashed underneath the chicken, and the sauces are mixed together. I think the sauce is partially my fault, as I walked home with them from the restaurant.

Overall, a good meal, and a filling one, there is a lot to eat here, and I think you may even get slightly more if you eat in (and will avoid the presentation woes mentioned above). Recommended if you're in the area.

7/10
